Implant

Terenyi Dental Clinic

Dental implants are like artificial teeth roots made of titanium, which, when perfectly integrated into the jawbone, provide a secure foundation for a fixed tooth replacement. The implant is therefore an alternative to the natural tooth, and is the first choice in case of tooth loss or missing teeth. The Terenyi Clinic plays a pioneering role in the field of implantology in Hungary.

Each implant intervention is always preceded by a thorough examination and planning based on a 3-dimensional CT scan. During the preliminary consultation, after a detailed general condition assessment and an oral cavity examination, we discuss with the patient the method and course of the implant intervention and possible bone augmentation.

The implantation is performed under local anesthesia, and we emphasize that it is a painless procedure. We offer our patients a wide range of advanced, scientifically proven Swedish Nobel Biocare and Israeli Alpha Bio implants, which are most frequently used worldwide.

Implant

The titanium implant that replaces the tooth root is a 7-18 mm long and 3.3-4.3 diameter screw, and has undergone special surface treatment. Thanks to the thread and the surface treatment, the surface is as large and advantageous as possible in order to start the ossification process, also known as osseointegration, as soon as possible. During implantation, a closing screw is placed on the implant, and then the gum is tightly closed above it.

After the healing time, the implant is opened up, and a special gingival healing cap screw is placed on the implant. If an immediate temporary replacement is made for the implant, then the gingival healing cap is placed immediately.

Abutemnt
An intermediate element, which can be made of titanium or zirconium, allows the crown/bridge to be fixed to the implant. At the Terenyi Clinic, we almost always attach the dental prosthesis to the implant with screws. Thanks to this, there is no need to use “irritating” adhesives, and the dentures can be worn at any time, e.g. during any repair or oral hygiene treatment, it can be easily removed/replaced without damaging the restoration.
Crown / bridge / full bridge replacement

It is screwed to the implant by the abutment.

In terms of their material and construction, the dental restorations prepared for implants are similar to those prepared for the natural dentition.

They are fixed at the Terenyi Clinic with so-called through-screw fixing. After fixing with sufficient force, the screw opening is closed with an aesthetic sealant, it is practically unnoticable. The advantages of this are that the dentist can remove it at any time without damage, and the screwing procedure is gentle on the gums.

The steps of the dental implant procedure
  • Diagnostics, planning

    • Oral examination: possible teeth to be removed, condition, location of adjacent or opposite teeth. State of the periodontium, examination of oral hygiene.
    • CT examination: at the Terenyi Clinic, before each implantation procedure, a 3D CBCT is performed (on the site), which provides accurate, measurable data regarding the bone stock. It can also be determined whether bone augmentation will be necessary in connection with the implantation.
    • Consultation, treatment plan according to your needs and possibilities (if applicable, consultation with a specialist in prosthodontics)

  • Preparation

    • At the Terenyi Clinic, all oral surgery and implant procedures are preceded by professional oral hygiene treatment (🡺 GBT) so that the surgery takes place in an environment as free of inflammation as possible.

  • Surgery

    • In all cases, we operate in a sterile environment: we rinse the patient's mouth with disinfectant, disinfect the skin of the face, use sterilized instruments in sterile isolation. If the implant healing under the gum with a closing screw, if it is loaded immediately then a gum healing cap is used and an anatomical impression is taken. The stitches will be in the mouth for 7-10 days.

  • Making dentures

    • gingival healing cap screwed in
    • impressions taken (closed and precision open tray impression, digital bite registration)
    • Denture try-in: after the necessary preparatory steps, the lab carves the expected dental prosthesis from a special plastic using CAD CAM, which is tried on and checked for fit, bite, comfort, and aesthetic requirements. If both we and the patient are satisfied with the result
    • we ask the dental technician to hand over the final restoration
